Applying to St. Andrews

I am an American applying to St. Andrews and hoping to study international relations. I have taken three subject tests (Literature, US History, Biology) and have gotten above a 700 in each. They recommend taking two subject tests in history or a language and getting above a 700. I have a perfect 4.0 GPA, 5’s in AP World History, AP US History, and AP European History (and in AP Chemistry, and am enrolled in 5 more AP’s this year). Would it be all right if I submitted my application with only one subject test score above a 700 in history or a language? It is rolling admission and I would like to submit my application rather than wait to take the World History subject test in December.

You don’t have to have both SAT subject tests and APs, so you’re fine in terms of quantity, and they don’t insist on one of them being a language, it’s just recommended. However, it would be advantageous to show some strong language background for IR. If one of the APs you’re taking this year is a language that would be ideal.

Duplicate tests don’t help you- you already have a 5 in World, so the subject test is irrelevant. The recommendation is for either subject tests OR APs.
