applying to UG business program w/ no previous business courses?

I am planing on applying to an undergraduate business program (like Wharton, NYU Stern, BU, etc.) with no previous business coursework.
Do you think the fact that I have not (and most likely will not) taken any of the business courses offered hurt my admission to UG business school? Do they care if I took availible courses or not? Will it affect their decisions?

Let me tell you why I have not or will not take bus. courses in my school:

To take the “most challenging courseload”, as suggested by colleges, I’d rather take AP classes than electives.

The business department in my school is a laugh, and most courses are occupied the biggest slackers in the school. All they do all day is play on the computers when they’re not watching the Apprentice or the Office!

It will hurt my weighted average and RANK (i have a great shot at valedictorian or salutatorian) to take a “lesser” elective course.

So anyway, I’m okay with waiting to get a world-class business education from college, rather than my high school. The question is: Are the Admission officers okay with that?

P.S. I do D.E.C.A (won some awards) and might do a summer business program (maybe), so it’s not like I completely have no knowledge of business.

I think Wharton advises you to NOT take HS business courses before attending. It's better to know how to think and how to learn before studying business in college. AP classes accomplish that a lot more than HS business courses. Focus on core subjects, like English, history/ social sciences, math, science, and foreign language.

As someone who teaches in a B-program in a LAC and has taught in two large B-schools, I can say two things. First, it does not matter. Second, if it is a good program, they will not, for example, waive Accounting because you took it in HS. They, however, may be very interested in your grades in your quantitative courses. There are exceptions, but few.

They offer business courses in High School? Didn't even know that.

i appreciate the thought! anyone else got some advice for me? how do I show that I really do love business despite me not taking it in high school?

Yea, there is an intro-to-business, marketing, and entrepreneurship classes at my school, but the people who take them are the worst students...who watch apprentice, do apprentice projects, or play games on the computers. What a joke.
