I did not take any subject tests because it was a financial hardship for my family. The SAT was hard enough on my family. I am applying and I do not have any subject test scores, will they still read/accept my application?

I apologize my friend, but 2 SAT subject tests are required or the ACT with writing. I do hope you can find help for your situation.
@threemonthstwo
I believe that you can still take the next ACT or SAT test and send in those scores. Also, dont forget that you can still apply during the regular decision round.
I was only planning to apply regular decision but I literally cannot take the SAT subject tests. I was very sick last year and could not make the time to take them. And now, I really can’t take them, given my financial circumstances. If I mention this in the additional information of my Common Application, do you know if they will still consider my application?
Also, there are other schools that I am planning to apply to that require SAT (II) Subject Tests. For example, Brown and Rice. Should I forget about applying or will they still consider my application?
If the admissions department states they are require SATII’s then the only one who can state otherwise is someone from the admissions department. Contact Columbia’s Undergrad Admissions directly. I’m sure they would give you a definitive answer.
The same goes for Brown and Rice. Explain your situation and maybe they will make an exception. You won’t know unless you ask! Just make sure you ask the people who have the authority to answer.
Thanks. I have emailed them and will wait for a response. You’re right, the best way for a definitive answer is from the admissions themselves.
@threemonthstwo I’m in the exact same shoes you are, what did the columbia admissions office tell you?
You don’t need the subject tests if you have the ACT with writing.
If your income is low enough to the point where you can’t afford paying for either of the tests, then you should be able to qualify for a fee waiver. Have you looked into that? The admissions committee might respond with the same question.
If the tests are required, Your application will be deemed incomplete without them.
Better to get the fee waiver and take the tests.
