Who is going?

I’m going on April 10-11th, my spring break.

If I go I will be there April 17th-18th.

I might lose my final exam exemtions if I can't get the absences excused. If I can't, then I won't go. crosses fingers

I'm in on the 10th and 11th action.

Me too. (Did you know each post had to be more than 10 characters?)

lol. Hey we should meet up! I haven't been around with USAFA candidate cuz there's not much of them here in Virginia.

I'm going for the 10-11 one.

I'm from VA.....

10 - 11 is where its at. Anyone Staying at the Academy Hotel the night before?

I was going to stay at the Academy Hotel, but when my dad called to make reservations they were full. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn (south of AFA).

I'm pretty stoked for this...

Haha. I made my hotel reservation months ago. I'm staying not at the Academy Hotel, but the other hotel where they pick you up on the spot (I forgot the name).

Rampart Lodge...

I stayed there in OCT. It was under a bit of construction. I was there for three nights and I had three different rooms, because the key system was messed up.

Benjo6 and I will be at the academy hotel for the 10th and 11th orientation. (Staying the night before). Ben will be the one playing the piano in the hotel lobby!

anyone going to the last session?

Ya buddy! 24th and 25th, here I come.

I wish I was going to one of these orientations! I was just there a couple months ago and don't feel like actually paying this time to go out again. Let us (the people who aren't going to them) know how it goes.

Anyone staying at the Hampton 17th-18th?

I'm excited to get my boots so I can start running in them. I was advised to buy dr.scholl's pads from an AFROTC cadet, but I don't know if the academy allows them.

I'm pretty sure they don't care what type of inserts you buy. I've also heard that people (cadets) do prefer dr. scholl's.

Do they send info on where/what type of boots to buy with the second package of appointment info?

They do. Quoting: "The boots need to be regular issue black Infantry Combat Boots, no jump or specialty boots are authorized." As an appointee, you are authorized to purchase the boots at any military clothing store (like AAFES).

Check http://warfighter.dla.mil for the proper description of proper boots. They can be found under PGC 02823 or on page 22 of the listing.
