I normally hate collegeconfidential. Too many arrogant, stressed out, prestigewhore teenagers.

Interesteddad's thoughtful advice kind of makes up for it.
Thanks for helping us out (although I still wonder how he finds the time to be so in love with Swarthmore---they should hire him to do publicity. Seriously).

Because he's showing appreciation for one of the most understanding people on here. I agree, sometimes people can be super snobby when people ask simple questions or when something they think is lower than them gets accepted into a school when they get denied. Interesteddad is amazing and extremely unbiased. He was very helpful from the posts I've read of his

yup I think we Swat'11 peeps owe interested dad some big thank yous. Thanks for being an Interested dad cuz some of us really need Interested dads.

Ditto. I think ID has definitely helped a lot of kids with their applications. I know the advice I got from him was the most useful out of all the adults I talked to both in real life and on the forum.

Aw shucks. Thanks. I enjoy seeing all you guys get acceptance letters as a result of putting together great applications. I almost never make predictions, so it's always a surprise.

It's a tough place to get into because stats alone, no matter how impressive, won't usually do it. On the flip side, a really good application effort can make a difference. The only thing I try to do is pass along the stuff Jim Bock has written over the years.

::cyber standing ovation:: Yay for interesteddad!
Aside from your thoughtful insights, your ability to "keep track" of things and people amazes me! Bravo!

haha, shaquita. but yeah, i really do appreciate all the help--even after the waitlist, i still wish i were going to swat, but all the information was pretty reassuring.
