April 1st--the end of the world or the start of a new life?

I can't wait. I'm seriously staring at the calendar every day wishing time would move faster. Then again, I don't want to know if I'm rejected, so I'm still preparing my reaction to that big fat "NO" that may come. Anyone started a countdown yet?? And who are you most anxious to hear from?

Me: Princeton

There’s a thread about this for Ivy applicants on the Admissions board.

But it is nicer here at HSL.

Congratulations xAAAx, you have been accepted to Princeton!

…APRIL FOOLS!

That would suck.

^lol. that would be harsh.

lol!..yes, that really would!

But I’d least feel like they cared for a split second =P

Compensating? Don’t think so.

end of the world if you dont get into princeton? lmao

lol, nahh…there’s always grad school =)

But if that doesn’t work out, then yes, it’s the end of the world ;)

It would be funny if a college stuffed a bunch of empty white papers into a envelope and wrote “Congratulations…” on the outside.

You receive this fat envelope, open it up, and see “…on being rejected!”, and cry. LOL.

haha, I’d actually like to see that happen. I’m sure it would make the news

lol!..that university then really went all out for a rejection!

Don’t worry about it you guys. Mostly everyone gets rejected somewhere. It’s part of life and dealing with not getting everything you want.

^you say mostly everyone though, which means there are two exceptions:

people who get in everywhere

people who get rejected everywhere

It is very very very very rare for someone to get accepted everywhere. My friend who got into Harvard got rejected by Yale and Stanford.

I SERIOUSLY doubt you guys are going to rejected everywhere.

^I have a fear I will be rejected everywhere else (but luckily I’m in two places! )

Also, it’s not the end of the world or a new life, exactly. It’s new, in going to college…but it’s still your life. And end of the world, really???

It will just be part of the flow of life. Go with it…and you will most likely be happy wherever you attend college! :D

Yes. this thread wasn’t intended to be so deeply philosophical though lol

^My response was deep philosophy…?

in a cliche way, yes.

Start of a new life. I would be happy to go to any of my safeties.

I honestly don’t care about admissions any more. I don’t think about it. I’m just enjoying the second semester of senior year, laughing at the asinine things said/done in class, and having more fun. I don’t care about the 30,000+ applicants to Harvard or Stanford, or the 7% acceptance rates. It’s not worth my time.
