From the ED Decision Status thread:

I just emailed a friend who is an admissions ambassador up at Princeton. He told me that he spoke to an admissions officer today and was told the letters will be mailed December 14th. Next Wednesday. I was hoping for sooner, but alas. Alas.

Yeah my interviewer actually said they're mailed the 14th. I was hoping he was misled.

So, since this seems to be the most reliable information we have so far, let's make this the countdown page.

So...8 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HOPEFULLY YES, 8 days

I'm ALMOST jealous that my Columbia buddies are getting decisions on the 8th. Almost because I know my decision letter will almost definitely say "deferred".

Yes, I can't decide whether it's better to get it over with soon, or prolong the delusion as long as possible.

even if it's 14th i will be getting it on monday 19th :( (or even later..)
i cant even call them up since they said we can call from 19th but it will still be 18th in the usa while it's 19th in nz :( how horrible...

The had better come sooner rather than later, as my birthday is the 18th. Imagine getting rejected on your birthday...

shudders gee that's gotta be nasty...hope you get in!

btw, has anyone on CC already finished highschool (except for those taking a gap year)? yea internationals. i have. i have just 2 more final exams left which finish this sat then im off. off to....endlessly waiting for the snail-mail to reach the bottom corner of nz...if i dont get in, my loooong holiday (till late feb) will not be quite as pleasing (with 8 or so apps to fill in..)

so what are you guys (internationals who have finished hs) planning to do for half a year if you get in? im gonna go travel A LOT, learn languages, teach myself some high level physics and math etcetc and the best of all, SLEEP!

I think no matter where I end up- I'll spend at least 1 semester at uniMelb just to get my mind back into the studying mindset. 1 Semester doesn't disqualify from applying at a freshman anywhere so thats probably what I'm going to do.

Bah- Columbia gets their decisions tommorrow? That ain't cricket mate. Not cool. Assuming they mail on the 14th, using USPS cal I estimate that chances are that Internationals would actually get it after the weekend which would be evil. Do they use express or priority? anyone know?

Here is the official countdown clock for Princeton ED letter (assume we receive the letters by 15th noon):

Thank you, Princeton 2B. Hopefully, the answer to your question shall be a resounding YES!

Is it worth to do anticipate so much for the decision letters?

I mean the truth is that more of us will be disappointed than delighted, so why not just forget about it until the decisions come? I mean, a rejection/deferral along with all the time spent agonizing over the wait is even worse than just forgetting about it and wait for a surprise
Just my 2 cents

The question is do you have enough self control just to wait and NOT speculate or hope?

You have a point Agrophobic. In a way I think CC has made my anticipation worse, but ohhh, I'm hooked.
Seriously, if I could forget I would, but how?

Use some conscious altering drugs such as psilocybin or mesculin and hallucinate stuff, although i dont recommend doing it on a roof, since you might hallucinate that you can fly.

Yeah Agrophobic has a good point, the majority of people will not be accepted. Although I agree with Pyramid that you cant just decide to forget about it. Unless you can, in which case more power to you.

welwelwel - I'm doing a year at a state university in lieu of 12th grade, but I don't know that that's what you mean...Technically, I "graduated" to get in, but other colleges I am applying to just see me as a senior...

Some days I forgot...Other days I spend agravating myself with speculation...
