***APRIL 2015 ACT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@ShabbaAmherst yeah I think the science curve might be generous. Hopefully -1 36.

I think 31.

@swanjoe0 I prolly got 7-8 wrong. :frowning:

@ShabbaAmherst That would probably be a 28 or a 29. Maybe a 30 if the curve is generous

@swanjoe0 How was your maths?

A couple of years ago, the science was really hard on two tests in a row, and they didn’t curve it. Has anyone ever seen a generous curve in the science? I’ve seen it in the math.

@ShabbaAmherst I’m not a good person to ask about math. I think i got 0 or 1 wrong. I did, however, think there were certain problems that were harder than usual

If i got around 3 wrong in grammar, around 10 wrong in math, around 2 wrong in reading, and around 3 wrong in science what would my scores be? Im so nervous ahhh

also do you think scores will come out soon?

@oreomaya you’ll prolly get 32-33

@mary25 I’ve never seen a generous curve in science since it’s always easy. I hope to see it this time.

Can someone predict my score too?

English: 10-15
Math: (pretty sure its 36 but give it a mistake) 1
Reading: 10-15
Science: 2-3

Could anyone predict my score? Hoping to get at least a 30.
English: missed 0-1
Math: missed 8-12
Reading: missed 2-4
Science: missed 8-14
Thanks!

YOU’RE GOING TO BAYLOR??? @BryceBJ

Any “score prediction” you’re going to get is complete speculation. No one on CC knows exactly what the curve will be.

Here’s a link to a collection of past scoring curves - http://www.freetestprep.com/blog/resources/act-test-scoring-table-how-many-questions-can-miss-on-each-section-to-get-a-certain-act-score/

Most all of us will find out in a little more than a week. Worrying about your score isn’t going to change it, so think about something else.

@mary25 @swanjoe0 @ShabbaAmherst The curve for the science will NOT be generous just because we did poorly. The curve is determined BEFORE students actually take the test. So it doesn’t matter if everyone did bad, the curve has already been pre-determined. But hopefully the ACT people noticed that it’s a hard test and maybe made the curve a little bit easier. You need to get every single question right to get a 36. The science curve is never any more generous than that

@outlooker
Are you sure this is true? My prep teacher told me that the best time to take the ACT is June since that’s when a lot of athletes take it and athletes generally score lower(no offense to any athletes out there, I’m one myself). I’m pretty sure for the PSAT the scale is made based on how the students did on it, idk about the ACT.

Compared to the February 2015 test, I thought the April 2015 test was easier in every sense. Maybe it’s because it was my second time taking it or something.

@balrog29 I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work that way.

@outlooker There are science tests in the red book that have a -1 36 curve. I think it is very likely that there will be a -1 36 curve because there were no 5 question passages and multiple 7 question passages.
