With the February ACT being over, might as well start this now for preparation. This includes if you are taking a state-mandated ACT sometime in April as well. So, what’s everyone doing to prepare?

I tried to work on a few problems here and there when I had time. I took three full length practice tests on Saturday in the middle of the day. I probably should have taken them in the morning but I couldn’t find the self discipline to do that
I’m switching over from the SAT. I’ve been getting 33-34 on reading, english, and science so I’m going to take more tests to make sure i get 35s on at least 2 sections.
This will be my third time as well, so I’m going to self-study everyday since I have a lot of down time. @typicallylex you can find full practice tests at the McGraw-Hill website. You have the option of doing each portion timed or untimed (I prefer timed because it shows you how the test is really set up). Just google ‘McGraw-Hill practice ACT test’. I also just found out about ■■■■■■■■.com…seems pretty legit.
I take it with my state on April 19 but kind of want to take this April 9 test after scoring lower than I had hoped to in February. Any advice?
I have the 2016 Princeton book, but after taking 3 of their practice tests and comparing it to the February test I felt like they were not the best representation of content on the actual ACT. How much would the red book help me? I’ll probably end up getting that to prepare for April 19 and maybe this one if I decide too. I’ll plan on knowing the December 2015 test inside and out too.
How do you guys manage time during the ACT Science? I skip the passage and jump straight to the questions, but I’m still having difficulty finishing within 35 minutes.
No idea how this happened, but I got a 25 on writing. My composite was a 36 (35/36/35/36) and I was really happy about having a good single sitting but I guess not. I’d gotten a 29 and 30 on the last 2 writings I took for the last 2 ACT’s and I felt like this one was way better, so I have no idea what happened.
I don’t want to retake this AT ALL, but I’m worried colleges will view this really negatively. Will they? Also, do they often make mistakes with writing? I’m wondering if this is a mistake and I should get it rescored.
@LetsGoPats I’m having a hard time finishing as well, but I’m reading that it’s better to take an educated guess than to leave it blank. It lowers your score and no one wants that
I just registered! Good luck to you all preparing. I’m consistently scoring in the range of 32~35 for each section… hoping to raise at least English and Math to a 36.
The April test will be my second time taking it, I got a 25 on the first one I took (feb 2016), didn’t study at all for it. I plan on taking it again in April, June and possibly next September as well, depending on how my scores come out, and depending on the application deadline for the schools ill be applying to. I have the 2016 Princeton Review and 2016 ACT Premier book from Kaplan. For anyone who’s self-studying, how are you prepping yourself? My goal for April is to get at least a 28 and the ultimate goal is a 30 or 31, but I’m not sure what the best methods of self-studying are
