BTW what is a 32 in SAT terms? Give me like a 40pt range or something

Wow all of this anticipation for nothing…

C: 32 (+0)
E: 34 (-1)
M: 30 (+5)
R: 34 (+0)
S: 31 (-5)

I thought if I took it again and raised my math score, I could have a pretty good composite, but everything else either dropped or stayed the same, so I guess I’m just destined to have a crap score forever. Oh well

Can someone tell me what a 29 is in SAT terms too?

FutureVpFinance - A 32 is the SAT equivalent of 2100 if I remember correctly

Oops I was wrong in the last post. A 32 is the same as a 2130 and a 29 is the same as 1920

The conversion tables are on the ACT website as well as a few others: [ACT-SAT Concordance](The ACT Test for Students | ACT) , http://professionals.collegeboard.com/profdownload/act-sat-concordance-tables.pdf , [SAT/ACT Comparison](http://www.eguidancecounselor.com/act_sat_comparison.htm)

I saw online 1980, but thanks. Still around my SAT score.

thanks. On another note, it’s crazy how I go to school and ppl ask me “Wow you got a 32?!? Are you going to Harvard?” and because of all the 35s and 36s I see on here I reply “I probably won’t get in” :(

don’t worry. Most of the people on CC are good students anyway, that’s why they are concerned (also me, a bit) about college and spend lots of time on this forum. A 32 is a fantastic score, a score I will try to get in September (how hard is it to improve by three points–if youve taken the ACT mor than once?)

Just got my scores!

E: 36
M: 36
R: 34 (Really suprised that this is as high as it is!)
S: 32 (Wierd, because science is my best subject. But whatever.)
Composite: 35

Super happy! Still no writing though.

FFS… I waited 3 extra days… full of anxiety and hope that I atleast got a 32…
And I get a effing gay score… I hate my life

Ughh, got an 8 on the essay, which was expected I suppose since that was what I got on my SAT essay. My combined English/Writing is 31, bleah. I just can’t write a good, well-thought out essay in less than half an hour! :(

c: 31

e:33
m:30
r:31
s:31

ugh, I want a 33-34 so bad!

C: 34 (What I expected)
E: 36 (How!!?!? I thought I bombed this section!!!)
M: 33 (I thought I did a little better than that)
R: 31 (I knew this would happen, although I didn’t realize it was that low)
S: 34 (Apparently that’s one wrong, so not bad)

W: Not yet availible

still have no idea what i made. was disappointed with no scores today. still just registered. guess ill have to wait until friday =(

English: 32
Math: 34
Reading: 33
Science: 35
Composite: 34

C: 31

E: 33 (expected higher)
M: 32 (about right)
R: 26 (?!?!, got a 31 last time)
S: 31 (pleased with)

Does anyone have suggestions for the reading section? It seems like a lot of people have the same issue I do (i.e., all great scores then reading :/)

I can’t seem to be consistent on the act. I always do well on 3 sections and bad on the 4th. Typically, the ones that are bad are science and reading. I think I’ve developed a methodical way to do well on the science; however, does anyone have techniques for the reading?

I always skip the prose section and do the rest and try and come back. Unfortunately I’m not the fastest reader–why my scores suffer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I believe that once you get to a certain point (say in both our cases a 32 +/-) it is hard to improve because improvement demands perfection. If a 34 is missing 1 and only 1 question on some tests, it becomes understandable that we get 33s and 32s. It’s hard to be completely perfect. I’m content with anything above 32. Unless you are trying to get into an ivy league school, that’s all you really need for anywhere else–with the exception of places like Duke, Stanford, etc. You get the idea. Although, a 32 is not a poor score when applying to Duke. I’m only saying that will not be an automatic acceptance.

Last SAT:

2050

CR: 660 (again, the reading section…)
M: 700 (missed two, omitted two; why does that seem harsh?)
W: 690 (wish I would have gotten a 700)

My reach school is Duke. I have an outstanding application (i.e., internship, perfect GPA, ex curr. etc.) with the exception of these scores. Does anyone know what my chances are, or what I should do? (Other schools I would like to attend: UNC chapel hill, UV, UC-berk, cornell, etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

English 36 Reading 36 Math 29 Science 34 Composite 34

No matter what I do, I can’t seem to crack the 30 ceiling in math. :(
