I thought we should create a separate thread to organize it better.

Okay question

Near the end of the section

The sentence was like describing something

It was like “[adjective] and [adjective], [adjective] and [adjective], ___________________”

Was the answer the one like “[adjective] and [adjective]”

Yep, parallelism

yeah, I think you kept it the same?

Does anyone remember the answer to the question about the importance of the date added after Mendel’s name?

Yes so choice A I think

@derek

pretty sure it was to put it in historical context

@derek620 It was historical context. You can’t just make a leap to a statement like it verfied it. Think about it. If i just give you a set of years, can you say anything besides that’s the historical context of something?

Yes! I got it right. I don’t know why but the first choice had me stuck a little.

What about the last question of the first passage (question 14)…

It asked something about childerns books and then had a structure of…

A. Yes…
B. Yes…
C. No, because this essay focused on him as a photographer and his unique dogs, not on his childern’s books.
D. No, bcause this essay focused on mutiple projects the guy and his dogs were a part of…

what was the one that was in the jeans passage that was like “in the 1890’s, a clothing store owner Levi” (and here you could put a comma or not…)

and i put C for that one user

@user83248324 - C
@dukelover87 - No commas, it was a restrictive appositive

@user83248324. I put C. I was a little stuck, but I thought a little deeply about it. So the passage included details about the differences in his dogs behaviors, and even gave examples of their awards etc. So obviously the dogs themselves were a strong focus of the passage. Also, it was mostly about him as a photgrapher, not really about his projects and stuff.

I also don’t remember the exact question, or sentence for that matter but does anyone remember the one where it said “since” and then you could chose to either put a comma or not.

What did you guys put for the remembering from photos one? I think I put “that I remembered from photos” or something along those lines, it was the one with no commas

Ya it’s that I remember because the other ones were talking about his parents remembering or something so the sentence wouldn’t make sense.

@dukelover87

I don’t remember the question, but ‘since’ probably had a comma in front of it was near the middle of the sentence.

@WiscoKid I put that I recognized. You had to pause at the word mother. So it read, The woman that I recognized from photos as my mother (pause) rushed toward me. I believe the ACT company themself should’ve put a comma after mother since it really sounded terrible as written.

idk if it was in the reading or english but does anyone remember one question being HORRIBLY written like the question itself I had to read over 5 times and it still had some sort of grammatical error that made it hard to understand

Was it the one in the jeans passage and said something like “_____ but actually displayed professionalism”.

Anyone remember the answer to this one?
