What did we never found out in passage one…What ended up happening between Ives and the girl in his class…I think it could be assumed he was doing something with printing at the printing shop?

What was the answer to what “carve up” meant in the passage question
Analyze, Minimize, or inscribe, or something else?

it was that he appreciated the music by hank!

@NY

I had trouble too. I guessed but dont exactly remember which

What were the answers to the question that were like “which of the following questions was not addressed in the passage?”

Ives’ vision for the future was showcasing his art

It was answered…because he was talking about his life in the present tense he mentioned something about laying with his love or something and her name was mentioned.

basically implying that they ended up together. (he was talking about his son too)

@user it was analyze i think

so was the answer “what did the guy do at the job”

also, what did “carve up” mean?

@mabsjenbu123 Yes to the first one and analyze, I think

yeah it was ‘analyze’

Was there more that one question that asked “which is not answered in the passage”?

also, back to NY’s question

why did he mention the simile type things and the answer was either that he felt the depth of his music or because he made unique sounds

What was the answer to the metaphor question, when he was talking about the beauty of the song?

i said depth of his music, because the simile didn’t come until late in the sentence, where it talked about his words

i believe the simile was because of the lyrics/words that hank wrote…but i’m not sure I think that I might have gotten that wrong!

I put that it was something about his words and emotion/feelings… I’m not sure either

Anyone remember the answer to the question about the Staton lady (or something like that) and why she was an imporant figure from the 1870s. The answer choices I was stuck between were something like:

-she was unchanging in her radical views and stuck to them
-bring tempered (something) showing compassion

@zlz5150 and @mabsjenbu123 It had to do this the printing place. In the 2nd to last paragraph it said he later married Annie Macguire. However, all it said about the printing was that in addition to printing he held many other occupations. Also, the similie was about the depth of feeling, since he talked about the effect and beauty of his voice + lyrics.

Speaking of that passage…what could we infer from her thing at the convention where she talked about women’s suffrage? It was either that it was insistent and something or not expected?

I put the choice with the word “suffrage” in it

I think the passage talked about how she fought for womens’ suffrage at the convention.

@derek260 It was she was unchanging in her radical views. It never talked about how she was compassionate, however, it did say she had uncharacteristic poise or something.
