April ACT: What did you think?

hey does anyone remember the CO2, NH3, CH4 scientist argument questions?

anyone remember what they put for any of the answers cuz i think I got rocked on it

michelle,

when do they yell at each other?
and why was it potentially confrontational?
(or was this question asking about the time they painted the house)
I thought it referring to the camera moment... :(

ok i think u may be right

im talking about when they painted the house

okay, i probably misread the question so you're probably right

But the one with Martha and Ola, it said Ola was sitting there crossing her arms when they first met, so I out bitter but later friends or something

well if that question was referring to the time they painted the house and martha and ola first met, i think martha asks "why are u painting your house yellow, that's ugly", and ola said "if u have all that energy to yell across the street, why don't you join me?" and so they become friends and live happily ever after.

you know if the ACT passages had more realistic situations, a lot more people would probably get these right :D

FOr the gas problem:
would there be more overall greenhous gasses now or 4BYA?

The science isn't too bad. Most of it is just reading the passages, tables, graphs, and figures, and the rest is common sense.

4BYA because the sun's output was stated as being 40%(?) lower at that time.

was that the one that was 630?
there was one about the substance that would shielf the nh3. i said theyd be at a higher altitude.

michelle: No, I believe that was a different question.
I also put that that it would be at a higher altitude.

grr yeah i think science killedme O.o

cobaltburrito,
i agree with you (hopefully we're right)

how would the finding that ch4 came from volcanoes help the scientists?
scientist 1: would explain where the ch4 came from

i thought it would help scientist one cuz he said CH4 was a big deal while scientist 2 said there wasnt engouh CH4 in the atmosphere to do anything

there was a question in the experiment about the effect of temp on density and one of the options was to do the experiment at -13 degrees. did you guys agree?

i said -13 but i really have no reason

but the problem did mention that they had already cooled it to -6 so i dont see how the -3 choice would do anything

I forget the exact wording, but it was something along the lines of obtaining the most data, thus I put -13 degrees C.

-13 would make the most sense - I put that.

i put -13.. made more sense than the others to me
