Difficulty of April ACT?

How did y'all find the difficulty of the April ACT, especially compared to the February one if you took it then?

about the same

I found the ACT science difficult…

I thought the English section was really easy. Math and reading average. Science a little difficult, especially with the ribosome question. But overall, I thought the test was really easy.

we all failed. We all got 19s and were gonna be poor hobo child predators with Arab-Jew beards and my dad will never love me anymore D:

Translation: I had to rush the last passage of the reading portion, a wasp was flying over my head that entire section, it was 90 degrees in my classroom, but on the other sections I felt pretty good!

English: Easy
Math: Hard
Reading: Easy
Science: In between. I felt more confident on this one than on the October, 2010 test.

english:easy
math:easy
reading:hard
science:ok

my first time taking it and i don’t know what to expect… i don’t wanna wait for my scores! english was easy, blew through it so i might’ve missed one or two. i despise math, there’s no way i got over a 30. reading was okay, probably missed a couple. science was easy but it was a time crunch so i know i missed some just because i was rushing.

English: Easy
Math: Medium-easy
Reading: Easy
Science: hard

English - Easy
Math - Easy (missed 1 i shoudl’ve got other than that i should have gotten them all)
Reading - somewhat difficult (for me, others found it easy)
science - always the hardest but there were like 1 or 2 that required outside knowledge

Rating from 1-10 (10 being superhard)

English - 3
Math - 4
Reading - 7
Science - 8/9

Harder than red book test #1 for sure.

English = easy, except I was extremely tired in the morning. I finished 15 min ahead of time and left 5min to take a nap. Hopefully my exhaustion didn’t drain too much of my focus.
Math = easy for me, but the content surprised me a little. Definitely more advanced concepts than I expected.
Reading = race! Medium. There were a couple questions I had to think about.
Science = medium? I thought it was kinda easy, mostly because the scientists’ differing viewpoints passage is my worst section, but having three short passages made it easier for me to process what each scientist was actually arguing.
Writing = medium. My proctor almost yelled at me because I didn’t put my pencil down right away when time was called.

The science was somewhat difficult, at least for the first experiment. I kept searching for the answer to one of the questions in the introduction and figures and couldn’t find anything. :expressionless: It’s not supposed to require outside knowledge, but I felt some of it did.

There was a science question that was pretty tough that I couldn’t find the correct answer on… Overall, out of three ACTs (Dec '09, Feb '11, and April '11) I feel that this one was by far the toughest.

English: Easy-Medium. The social sciences section (on the cleopatra statue) had 5 or 6 “NO CHANGE” answers I believe. That really through me off because usually there are only 2-3 per each English Section.

Math: Medium. I’m ashamed to say the question about the rhombus had me scratching my head, I just didn’t know the rules for a rhombus. Also the 3 questions based off of the inequalities graph were pretty rough. I also wasn’t sure about the question that asked something like “What is the radius and center point for the circle equation (x-4)^2 + y^2 = -16”.

Reading: Easy. This was the easies section over all for me. Aside from having to reread a sentence hear or there because some were a bit boring and my mind wandered I don’t think I had any problems.

Science: Medium-Hard. I really felt that the sections for this science test were either very simple or pretty tough. The question that, out of the blue, asked what was used to transcribe mRNA through me off, although I believe I answered correctly with Ribosomes. The section about water discharge from streams was a little ambiguous but overall not that bad. Then there was the science section with the 2 different graphs where the x-axis represented what percent solid the object was, and the y-axis represented the temperature, while the inside of the graph was split into 4 quadrants with different chemical solutions in each one. This section was by far the most confusing part of the test and really left me wondering what I was supposed to be doing as I really didn’t understand how to interpret that graph.

Essay: Easy. The prompt was just “Should teachers express their stances on political or social issues in their classrooms?”. I answered no and supported my stance with by saying that teachers can be intentionally or unintentionally biased, that teachers may discourage their students by voicing their opinions, and that teachers won’t always know all the facts about every issue and therefore without a textbook they can present a topic to students without giving them all the facts. I thought my essay went well, I was a bit pressed for time and couldn’t complete my concluding paragraph’s last sentence, but I think it will be fine.

Overall not a bad test, I look forward to taking it again in June. I think I’ll score better next time around.

English-Easy
Math-Medium
Reading-Easy-Medium
Science-Hard
Essay-Easy-Medium

English: Easy
Math: Hard, but I suck at math
Reading: Easy, but I didn’t answer two questions due to time running out.
Science: Medium
Writing: Medium

English - Easy
Math - Medium
Reading - Easy
Science - Medium-Hard
Essay - By far the easiest prompt to answer.

Assuming that the harder the section of the ACT test this time, the more views the thread ab that section gets on CC because more people concern about it. So in general so far, the hardest would be math and then reading, science and english.

English = average.

Math = easy, but I did see some unexpected questions. If I missed any it was because I made a dumb mistake :p

Reading = ouch. I’m hoping I missed 3-4 at most…

Science = easy. <– Not a good thing. If I made a dumb mistake, and the ACT thought it was as easy as I thought it was, -1 could be bad… Or maybe -1 would be 36, and -2 would be 34?
Either way, I hope I didn’t make a mistake on that section.

Overall: Average!
