nope, that was the penguins finished the last strokes with the swimmer, which was correct according to the general consensus.

I put that as well.

bits of ice is the right answer... it gives a physical description of extreme cold that she is swimming in

yeah that "the penguins jumped in and cheered her on for her last thrilling strokes"..or something

that's the last question.. the ice one was a couple before the penguin one

I agree pretty well with everyone on the difficulty of this test...

English - Easy, had lots of time to check my work. Missed the one about bits of ice though.

Reading - Not very hard, about average. I had to rush through the last story, but I did have a minute or two to check back over my work.

Math - Ugh. I though it was pretty easy, but so far I know I missed 3. I missed the diagonal through the rectangle one, the number of rows in the garden one, and the very last one with the cubes (I got 13% somehow?!). I hope it wont drag my score down too much...

Science - This was hard. I was just starting the last set of questions when 5 min was called. I think I had to guess on two or three of them, but I was able to eliminate 1 or 2 answer choices.

The last time I took it I got a 33. 32 E / 30 M / 36 R / 32 S I'm hoping for a 36 on the reading again to bring up my probably lower math and science scores lol.

on the penguin one, i put that a flock of penguins jumped in the water and finished the remainder of the race with her

I think the reading was very easy this time.. i hope i actually did well this time on reading... last time i took the test i freaked out and screwed myself over:

Feb. ACT:
Overall -- 31
English - 35
Math - 36
Reading - 23
Science - 31

reading sucked... but at home these past couple of days i got a 29 and two 30s on the reading tests alone, and if i can just get that, then i'd have a 33 on the act easily.... i hope i did as well as i thought i did on this reading this time

i'm guessing this on this ACT:

Eng -- 35 or 36
Math -- 34 or 35
Reading -- 30, 31, or 32 (hopefully..)
Science -- 31, 32, or 33

that should get me my goal of a 33 or higher overall

lets try to think of some science questions

Here are the passages (probably not in the right order):

chromosomes/genes

ball rolling down incline, angle, height, kinetic energy

two species, A thaelius or something, adding genes to help it produce more alpha-something (haha i didnt really read that passage)

composition of rocks

electric circuit- testing Voltage and Resistance, changing aspects of wires

fighting scientists-greenhouse gases

density of water, effects of heating, cooling, adding NaCl

owned that B***h

um...

i was rocken that

"durrrr"

"durrr"

"durrrr"

"1 min. left" - "al;sdjflsdakjf" (think I did okay on last part though)

Oh well, state ACT in 2 weeks

are u from illinois

yah, psae ftw

took me a bit to figure it out how to read all the info since i haven't taken bio since 8th grade

thank u ap physics

did ok i think.

ok i think

thank u again ap physics made it a lot easier

really screwed up

rushed hopefully i didn't screw up too much

i was confused on one of the questions for the last science portion. with the water mixing? that last passage confused me... argh.

also for the piano/harpsichord one. what did you guys put? that the piano was more suited for....?

Xiadane, most here either put "_____ cabinetry" or "solo performance"

i think solo performance makes more sense.
the whole idea about the piano being revolutionary is that it could be left by itself. the passage said that harpischords were only suitable for drawingroom performances. so i think that although the piano had the cabinetry or whatever, the solo performance answer makes more sense.
the choices were
solo performance, drawing room performance, something cabinetry, and church performance

yeah i was stuck between those two.

but the passage stated that the piano could be played loudly/softly whereas the harpsichord could only be played loudly. but it also said that the harpsichord was confined to the drawing room. however, it later said that solo performances became more common versus being exceptions... meaning... that people also played harpsichords at solo performances?

for the martha/ola section in reading...
whose idea was the movie?

well if the cabinetry was the reason that the piano could be played loud or soft, then that answer could work. but i dunno if that's the reason or not. i think there are strings inside of it that make it do that.

i think it says that solo performances became more common because of the piano, maybe?

it was the narrator's idea

and gramatically, it wouldnt make any sense to say that "the piano was more suited for cabinetry." it would make sense to say that "the paino was more suited for solo performances."
