<p>Does anybody else think that it is slightly ironic that some of the college notification dates are April 1st. What if one of their letters went </p>
<p>"We are delighted to inform you that you have been accepted to the class of 2009.... just kidding, April Fool's, look for another college because you sure aren't getting into here."</p>
<p>Yeah, I noticed that too...I just know if I actually get in anywhere like Princeton that I'll be thinking of that exact thing.</p>

<p>As a general rule of thumb, yes. Callthecops, though, you live in Korea - surely mail service there is quite reliable? You should know either way by the end of the first week of April.</p>

Definitely. Though you should make sure the letters were mailed on April 1.</p>
<p>I didn't get any news until December 15th, so I knew I was deferred. The letter, btw, came on Dec 22nd.</p>
