Decision Time Absurdities

I've been observing that many colleges release their admissions decisions on April 1st. If you haven't noticed, that happens to be April Fools day.

Do any of you find it funny how they choose the dates? It makes me wonder if you can trust the decisions made on that day.

In fact, I think I have a new goal - to become an admissions officer at some top college just so that I can send out accepted decisions to every applicant and then say at the bottom: "April Fools!"

Isn't it odd? Why do colleges do that? Has it ever been leveraged to take back admissions decisions at the last minute, however absurd it may be?

Man, I was just telling my friend about this a week ago. Hands down the cruelest rejection letter.

haha just yesterday I was talking to some frrineds about this!
damn, I'd be the most evil admissions officer ever! =P

I was thinking the same thing last week :)

We've got a bunch of sadists out here! ;)

The really cruel thing to do would be to send a REJECTION letter and include "Nah, just kidding; you're in" at the bottom in tiny print.

This will make waitlists obsolete =D

^Amazing idea, lol.

I always wondered why they put it on April Fools' Day. For some reason, I think that'll make me feel worse if I didn't get in. Like, "haha, fate hates you," or something. :P
