APs and SATIIs for pre-med?

i want to go into pre-med and i was wondering what AP tests and SATII tests i should take.
are APs in physics, chemistry, AND biology needed?

thanks in advance.

Pre-med is just a set of courses you have to take in college to apply to medical schools. Thus, it doesn’t really matter what AP tests or SAT IIs you take. They have nothing to do with the pre-med track itself… unless you’re applying to a combined program, which often have their own requirements.

On the other hand, since the pre-med track requires college level courses in bio, chem and physics, it would be a good idea to take AP courses in those areas. Be aware of the issues with AP credit and pre-med requirements though:

Physics doesn’t play a big role in pre-med, and it really doesn’t matter what AP’s or SAT II’s you take, and not even what you major in in college, as long as you fulfill the course requirement for premed, mainly chem and bio. So yes, you might want to take chem and bio related AP’s and SAT II’s.

Pre-med requirements include two semesters of general physics with lab and it’s 50% of the Physical Sciences section on the MCAT, so yes, physics does play a big role in pre-med.

I thought Physics was the least tested topic on the MCAT.

As I just said in my post:

The least tested is organic chemistry, which is only 25% of the Biological Sciences section.
