AP's, any point?

It means it doesn’t count as passing a specific class, but you still get units which count toward graduation minimums (but not maximums!).

I’m busy right now, but I’ll explain this tomorrow if nobody’s answered it.

On the website previously linked, it says under the “English” section that there is a cap of 8 units for both tests. This effectively means that even if you pass both AP Lit and Lang, it’ll be as if you only took and passed one test. So if you passed one of them with a 4 or 5, there’s not really a point in taking the second exam. Keep in mind that different colleges obviously have different policies – this is only specific to UCLA.

On the other hand, AP US History and AP US Gov are two different sections. Therefore, if you take and pass both, you’ll get 4 units for AP US Gov and 8 units for AP US History. If you only take or pass one of the two, you’ll just get credit for that test.

Would I get “unassigned” credits for passing Lit? and thanks for the clarifications thus far.

No, you just get 8 unassigned units for both tests, so even if you take and pass Lang and Lit, you can only get 8 unassigned units total, not 16.

Bummer. Guess I’m drawing on the Lit exam, haha.
