APUSH 2010 post exam thoughts

i chose 2&4 too!

i went into the AP exam thinking it was going to be super intimidating because this was my first AP test (our school only lets juniors and seniors take APs and we only have 6 of them) and it really wasn’t that bad and I didn’t even study (not that I’m proud of that lol) because I didn’t go to sleep the night before (AP english assignment was due that day =]).

so say i lowball my scores as missed 20-25 (5 of which are blank), get a 6/7 on the Dbq and one frq and get a 4 on the last frq, would i still make the 118 curve?

^The curve was my estimate, so take it with a grain of salt. I think with those scores you would be borderline 4/5, depending on the curve.

ugh, is all i have to say.
everyone else seemed to find the mc easy :(

Arwenevenstar, read my thread about MC

thanks junhugie it makes me feel slightly better but it aint gonna change anything. collegeboard does have the “right” to do whatever they feel like. :)

So basically, if everyone thought it was this simple this year…then would it decrease the chance of people getting a 5? O_o or is that just for SATs…
I mean, the curve stays the same, right?

No, it’ll probably go up. :/

I really wish I took apush in 2001/2006…

The curve doesn’t stay the same. It’ll be wayyyy up this year.
I’m almost certain I failed. ): I BS’d all my prompts so much (I wrote DBQ, 2, and 5), and I left at least 10 blank (not to mention haphazardly educated guesses on ~20). Should I cancel? Thoughts?

It shouldn’t be much different. I mean people here thought it was ridiculously easy, but a lot of other people not on this site (in my school and other people’s schools from what people are saying) didn’t think it was so easy.

NO!

You’ll lower the curve for the rest of us!

the curve is seriously not gonna be “way up” or anything… cc threads are NOT a representative sample of what everyone who took it thought of the test! this is where states like alaska come into play (sorry alaskans on this thread lol) btw in what universe was the dbq ridic easy? i (& most people i talked to in my school) thought it was one of the weirdest possible questions ever :(

sure send me an email

I paid $136 for this test because I’m out of district. No way in hell am I getting less than a 4.

Crash Course dominated this test. For a book that is only ~200 pages, it probably covered 90% of the MC and predicted the 2 of the 4 FRQ’s.

I was smiling when I opened the FRQ. It was so much easier than I expected, and so much easier than the multiple choice. I was so happy while I was planning my DBQ and I felt very confident that I got a good number of points. I chose 3 and 5 as well. 3 was my best essay, hands down, and 5 was good for part of it. The other half I BSed, right around the time I realized I should have written an essay on number 4, after realizing I knew a LOT about the topic. All in all, I am hoping for a 4. I omitted 10, so I hope I didn’t do too terribly on the multiple choice and I hope my FRQs will make up for it.

@ApTester: Yeah, I definitely agree. I had finished cramming Crash Course the day before the exam, and was surprised when they had an MC quote question lifted straight off Crash Course.

When I first opened the MC, I was able to breeze through it right away. A lot of the kids around me were just staring at their booklet. lol

@ryancj11: LMAO, same here. I had picked 3 and 5 also. I realized that I knew a lot more about 4 when I had already written a paragraph for question 5 [too bad I was pressed for time… I had about 15 minutes left].

All of the test to me was… okay. The MC was a little harder than I expected, but fairly easy. I skipped 2 and guessed on about 10. As for the DBQ, that was completely unexpected for me and the other two essays were okay. 3 was extremely easy and 5 was, eh, fine. I’m putting my hopes on MC versus essay, haha. And a nice curve! (who knows)

It really sounds like I should have gotten Crash Course! I just sort of, uh, read AMSCO. Chilled. And that was it.

As for others, most of my friends thought it was okay too, so I’m just trying not to stress and still hoping for that 5.

I finished the first 20 multiple choice questions in about 5 minutes. Not even kidding. Crash Course OWNS. I had time to triple check many of my answers, and I only guessed on about 5 or so. The strange thing is, I hardly remember any of the questions.

I read 2/3 of AMSCO and most of Crash Course and still found the MC somewhat challenging. Ugh I honestly have no clue how I did and I’m getting extremely paranoid.
