APUSH 2010 post exam thoughts

Jadorekelsey, I agree, the DBQ really hurt me too and topic number 3 was a real good one. I’m taking the AP Lang exam on wednesday too. I’m nervous about that one. On the practice exam, I scored super close to a 4, but haven’t been able to get that 4 yet. Hopefully I can get it on the actual exam and hopefully we have easy essays :)

Sciencefrenchie, stay positive. I’m sure you did great overall! Plus, the APUSH exam generally has a pretty generous curve. In fact, my teacher said she has a friend who’s been teaching APUSH for years now and that teacher had a student once who completely wrote off topic on one of the FRQ and pretty much got a 0 on it and still got a 5. So you could still be doing good.

ridicuously easy except for the the last frq section. But i’m pretty sure that’s the general consensus.

This was soooo easy. i skipped like 8 mutiple choice because in my study I skipped over WWI-WWII, and Woodrow Wilson. I’d rather get no credit than get points off. The DBQ was the exact same DBQ my AP US teacher gave me for my midterm…beasted. The essay was so damn easy…cough suburbanization cough.

Arthua, if only you had been coughing before the exam. :slight_smile: You have magical study coughs :wink: The FRQ’s were pretty easy, my main problem was just the DBQ. I think I completely failed it, but hopefully the rest will undo any DBQ damage. I almost did the FRQ you did, but then I decided I knew more about the one before it.

@ernie92:

My teacher told me that you can’t get a zero unless you write something completely off-topic. If you write something about United States history, even if it’s a century off and completely inaccurate, you still get a 1.

for DBQ did we have to answer all three parts or just two i can’t remember

@Exception:
That’s comforting. At least now I know I’ll at least get a couple points even if it’s not a whole bunch, but anything is better than nothing, right? :)

@jambafan38:
You needed to do all three.

ouch. wat do u think i would get if i did good on two and briefly mentioned the last one

jambafan38, if you really did the two very well and did good with the documents I think you could get a 7. It depends what exactly you mean by brief, but if it’s just like two things for the last one, but really good for the other two, I don’t see why you wouldn’t at least get a 6.

The best you could get would probably be a 6 or 7. The graders are very strict about answering all parts of the question.

Loved the DBQ. We spent the first month of AP US discussing that topic. Seriously, a whole month. <3

The DBQ was BS. I found very little on political things. Overall, it went pretty well though. :D

DBQ was great. i studied the time period last night so i felt good :slight_smile: however, questions 3 & 4 were horrible for me. MC also was bad so im expecting a 3

haha ok thats fine… i was just hoping i’d get some points i think i did fine on mc and the other two frqs

But it was basically all political things. Beginning of democracy and such? I wrote a page long paragraph about that. Hahahaha.

DBQ was meh. I used all but 1 of the sources. Then I included 2 novels, 2-3 pieces of outside information. I also mentioned Camus’ philosophy about how we objectify/persecute others to make ourselves more pious.

I did #2 and #5. I actually started doing #4, was getting frustrated with it, and switched to #5- champed it out. I included a LOT of information and the greater implications of those two movements (1 and 3rd) on politics and society. I want to major in history so am REALLY hoping for a 5. We shall see I guess.

dudeeee. The DBQ was a life saver. I did free responses 3 and 5, and I think I maybe got a 3 and a 2… I chose the first and third options for question 5. The first was easy, but they were impossible to fit together, and there was hardly any information on options 2 or 3.

As far as the multiple choice goes, I think I did pretty well.

What did you guys write for the Suburbanization/growth of the Sun Belt?

MC: First 1/3 was easy, second 1/3 was medium, last 1/3 was pretty difficult, I guessed on like maybe 10-12.

DBQ: Pretty easy, but in a haste to use ALL of the documents my message was sort of mumbeled.

FRQ: The first one, Rev War, was pretty easy, but I don’t think I took full advantage of it.

The second one, I wrote about baby boomers, which was right, but then went on about Mexican immigrants during 1945-1985, which I don’t think is true.

Ehh we. will. see.

Oh and I forgot my AP Student Pack so Delayed scores…YAY…
