hello
although i am not in AP united states history class my teacher made the students write DBQs....argh that is so messed up considering that we have no background information at all about DBQs
I know this is not a homework help site, but i just need major help in starting this. Can any of you confident about APUSH help me form 3 main points for the DBQ topic found in the site below?
Be an optimist and think this is a practice for the exams administered in MAy hahaha

cOmon
Someone has to know!!!

Well, for one, timeless, you can not make three points in a DBQ essay, you have to present an argument and back up your argument by using the documents and the outside knowledge you know (in this case, WWI). The question tells you to assess the validity of that statement. So, what you need to is determine if there is any truth behind the statement they give you. I am in APWH, but I will try to help you... For example, if you say that there is no truth behind that statement, you have to put it in an essay format and use the documents to show why it is invalid. The DBQ is almost like a persuasive essay and instead of looking up information to prove your point, you use the documents that they give you to prove your point. I hope this helps you out!!!

There was another post about this earlier. I hope this post help you out with your DBQ!

thanks you guys!!! ^^

You don't necessarily need three points. Firstly, analyze ALL documents TO THE LETTER. Then, based on the notes you wrote, (you did-right?) take a stance. You don't have to agree with it, go with the easiest side. Your teacher will NEVER know what side you're ACTUALLY on. I disagree, however, with Murrah08 on the information part. You have to use outside information. Basically, stuff as much outside information and document analysis as you can while still maintaining a coherent point.
