Does anyone know the state of the arabic program at GW? How popular is it? How good are the profs?

GW, generally, has excellent language programs (I don't know anything about the Arabic program specifically).

I can't comment on the strength of the arabic program specifically, but there are opportunities outside the language depts at GW to take arabic. The campus hillel offers free arabic classes. There's a club called "Global Languages" that, I'm sure, teaches arabic and other languages you'd probably won't find traditionally taught in university (Greek, Urdu, Albanian, Farsi, Hindi, etc). There are also local DC organizations that offer arabic courses.

It's DC, there's almost everything.
