<p>ive always checked "white" but I think they should definitely have a box for arab-americans or middle eastern people. i mentioned something in my common app essay about how we don't have a box to check. well, i thought it was clever anyways. =(</p>
<p>You guys should check the "race in college admissions FAQ 3" thread, it will answer a lot of questions. North Africans (anything north of/including the sahara) are considered white by the US census bureau, and therefore by college admissions. Middle easterners are considered white too. This is just for statistics purposes, you may consider yourself African American if you want, but you should put down white, or other/unknown on your app.</p>
