I am a Jr. interested in majoring in architecture. Does anybody have information about the program at Barnard? I know it's a joint program with Columbia. Thanks for your help

It's one of the top programs in the country. Ironically, it's office is I believe on the Barnard campus.

agreed with mardad. it's supposed to be fabulous, and the department is located at barnard. i have heard it is extremely intense.. after all, one can bs a paper, but it's hard to bs a tangible model of a building.

What exactly do you want to know?

In general, architecture students are some of the most dedicated (coughobsessed) I've ever met. Some of them practically live in the studio or shop. Back during the Columbia riots, when students were seizing buildings and all students were ordered to leave campus, the architecture students seized their building just so that they could continue working.

But architecture is one of the programs Barnard likes to polish up and show off, so you'll be in good hands.

The architecture major consumes your life, I've heard.
But it's a great program here.

I know that architecture will be my life : ) I just wanted to know how Barnard compares with other programs at other schools and what the focus of the program is. Thanks again.
