I know MIT has one of the best programs in the country, but does anyone anything beyond that? What's the it like to be an architecture major?

IT’S AWESOME
you tell your fellow students you’re course 4 and people kinda just look at you in awe
or they’re all like “omg that’s so cool! i wish i could be course 4 but i’m not talented enough”
and it’s awesome.

on a more serious note, it’s a good program. it’s small (~50 undergrads) but has lots of resources (also a lot of grad students lol), and the department seems to know what it’s doing and is able to support you. you’ll stay up late for studio but you’re in complete control over your projects… it’s a great feeling.

Everyone I know who has been an architecture major has loved it.

Admittedly, this is a small sample size (three people). But, data points!

Also, when APO (the co-ed service fraternity) does end-of-term cookie distribution to people tooling around campus, it always hits all the architecture studios, because the students are so appreciative. ;)
