I need some help with a project for art history...wondering if some of you Princeton buffs could help me. I visited Princeton last March but forgot most of the stuff I saw lol. Does anyone know any Princeton architecture that has Corinthian columns? or an ambulatory? I remember the church had a lot of exquisite things in it, I just forgot to take pictures.

Actually, if someone could help me with the following list...

corinthian column
rotunda
equestrian statue (horse)
ambulatory
pilaster

Does anyone know any structures at Princeton that have each of these features? If so, could you please share and possibly provide a picture? Much appreciated! I also visited Columbia and Yale last march but I think Princeton's architecture (especially the big chapel) might have more of these features. Any help is appreciated!

I'm not all that familiar with architecture, but from what I've gathered of corinthian columns you might want to check out Whig and Clio. They look exactly the same and have columns in front of them. Here's a link to a picture:

Actually, those are ionic columns I believe...someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Could be. I don't know **** about architecture, I was just going by the fact that most buildings at Princeton are collegiate gothic and hence don't have columns. Whig and Clio are two exceptions.

Ok, all I need now are pilaster and ambulatory. Does anyone know any churches at Princeton that have an ambulatory?

I would imagine the cathedral-size Princeton Chapel does have an ambulatory... look for pictures though. If this is for an Art History project on classical architecture, I probably wouldn't have picked Princeton... As CDS said, it's collegiate gothic, not classical. You might be better off with UVA...though I don't really know much about its architecture either.

It doesn't matter what type it is. I just need to find an example of an ambulatory.
