I've been accepted to the architecture programs at U.C. Berkeley, U.T. Austin and UVA, and I have no idea as to which school I should attend. Can anyone help me out and give me some advice?

Berkeley: #1 Public University (according to U.S. News and World Report); 4-year undergraduate architecture program

Texas: #2 Undergraduate Architecture Program (according to Design Intelligence); 5-year undergraduate architecture program (professional degree)

Virginia: #2 Public University (according to U.S. News and World Report); 4-year undergraduate architecture program

Is the five year program better because it gives you more studio experience and a professional undergraduate degree? Or is the four year program better because, by default, you have to get a master's degree to practice architecture?

Speaking as someone who went the 4 year route, and is headed to grad school next year, I would recommend the 4 year plan.

Within a 4 year program you tend to get a similar studio experience, especially if you head to Virginia or Berkeley, along with a chance to take classes outside the architecture school (something I found to be extremely valuable). Furthermore, when it comes time to graduate I find most people, (both B.Arch and BS/BA) students who are serious about architecture head off to grad school anyway.

Head over to www.archinect.com it's a great resource for future/current architecture students and architects. There will be a lot more people over there who've been through the same thing and can give you good advice.
