i don't now why they will mix undergrad and grad programs...

Schools of architecture have a synergy between the undergrad and grad programs, usually sharing the same faculty and resources.

It's theoretically possible to rank the best B.A, best B.Arch, best BFA, best M.Arch, best M.A., etc. but you have to be aware of what is being ranked. You can't call a ranking the "best undergraduate program" ranking when it only includes B.Arch programs. A program with a B.A. that sent all its students to the best M.Arch. program would be better, in my opinion, than a any five-year B.Arch.

The DesignIntelligence ranking I posted is a ranking of architecture schools in their entirety. Use them as a guide to see which schools are considered the strongest, then go and investigate the specifics of each undergraduate program because they are all very different.

but the problem, posterX, is if one goes for a BA and then goes on for an M.Arch, one would have to spend 7 years before one can practice, as opposed to a 5-year B.Arch...

yeah, posterX i see your point. but i don't see USC. is her B.Arch program so weak? Cos I'm still wondering whether she is worth considering...

yeah bneg, i'm retaking them cos now, i think i have a much better chance of getting higher scores and then, i scored math2 - 730, phy - 740, and i guess there is much room for improvement.

i haven't taken physics and writing...i think i also need to take lit.

yeah, and since most schools still require 3 sat2s, i have to do either french, ushistory or chemistry...unsure

i took chem and mathII...what did you get on verbal/math on SAT I?

710/710. retaking this october, hopefully to get better scores...

oh...then i guess it's worth retaking since you can definitly expecta better math.

are you almost done with your apps?

yeah, hopefully, and even a better score in critical reading as well. i've embarked on a somewhat ambitious reading project, and it has been helping me a great deal...

well, far from done. anyway, i'm using the common app for all of them and i only have to upgrade my application to USC by sending new SAT scores and a new portfolio. but there are tons of supplementary essays to write...wow, i have a lot of work, because i'm also thinking of sending a music portfolio...

bneg, i need a school to apply early to. i'm thinking of Yale, but that seems like a far reach. stanford is more of a reach, i guess, but it doesn't have what i want. i'm in a quandary... are you applying early someplace?

i'm sending you a private message...check it out in like 1 min.

ok, thanks, man!

i sent it, you can reply here

a music portfolio? wow, i was trying to do that but i think it's going to take way more than i can handle!

actually it all depends on how much time i have. if i can polish the portfolio and my apps and essays, then i'll come to that, but that's not my priority for now. the main thing is my SAT.

i have to apply early someplace cos if i don't my parents would want me to get into USA at the slightest opportunity and that would mean going to northeastern or IIT for a major i don't like...

but if i get in early some good place, i'll be free...

sorry bneg, i pm'd you before reading your next post. check your pm, twice.
