no i didn't call. they'll initiate the process...wow, cool, youve sent the commonapp!

cornell arranges the interview. but you could email wendy or any other person to find out...

i am so glad to hear that...i can't even find the number on the website!! how is everything going?! both you and jcro have been gone for quite a long while~
wow, are you up late at night or are you waking up really early?

it's after 8 in the morning, here. most times we discuss, i'm up in the middle of the night.

i usually check mail and stuff 4 in the afternoon, which would be.... 1 in the morning for you?! do you stay up really late to study and work on apps?

i've called other schools but never cornell. however, they reply emails very promptly

i once tried to keep track which schools replied most promptly...i think Calpoly is the worst. it's been 2 months and i only got the auto-reply~

it all depends. my sleeping times are very irregular.
[when i meant usa was my third country, i didn't mean i'm a citizen. but that'll be the third country i'm gonna spend a great part of my life in]
i work in the day. but the night is better. and sometimes, i'm just up till about 3am. for a long time, i've been sleeping only 4hours/day during the week

what do you usually work on? i think sleeping is a waste of time too, but my mom won't let me stay up long. i can't imagine sleeping only 4 hours a day... your days must be interesting! at least interesting enough to keep you awake!

SAT prep/essays/i spend a lot of time thinking, too/portfolio/math,french,physics,ush/and kitchen affairs, lol.

when i'm not working, i'm on CNN/TV5, and most of all, playing with my 5yr old brother [we fight and play hide-n-seek].

so, man, gotta leave now. be back in 12/24/36hrs....laters.

i have to go too~ it is, after all 11:43! i like thinking too. and i also wish my bro was still small. bye!

well sleep is a complex affair. we were created to sleep...but sometimes...like on Friday and SATurday nights, i didn't sleep. i was glued to CNN. why - Katrina, and i'm sure that many of hte relief workers, coast guards, etc haven't slept a wink in 5 days.

but time makes no sense to me anymore. and it's hard for christians to keep eternity in focus while living on earth. christian music keeps me in tune...there was a plane crash in indonesia just yesterday [over 100 dead], egypt, 20 people died in a theatre that caught fire. in austria, a helicopter dropped a load of concrete on a cablecar leaving 9 german tourists dead and 10 seriously injured, several apartment fires in paris. man, life is too short to get too absorbed in this world.

so, well, my days may be interesting. i've not made friends since i got here, so pretty much...i couldn't bring my instruments from home. so when i get my piano and guitar here, i'll spend a lot more time and sleepless nights on music.

yo! so really g2g now. stay cool,

but church here is wonderful and with the disasters occuring everywhere, it reminds us that earth is not home. you've heard people who lost everything they had in this disaster. everything they've worked and lived for. their homes and livelihoods. we are reminded that we can't get too cozy here, or we'll forget. so it's always a struggle...

heyy i got some questions. does/did anyone here do the A-levels? if so, do i really need to study physics to apply to american or canadian unis for architecture? if so, what if im already doing further maths? and thank you for the previous info. u guys gave me. =]

Jrock, do you like problem solving? if you like problem solving, this is going to be a wonderful life for you because there are so many problems in the world today! Architecture is definitely a tool to solve some serious problems, especially environmental ones....with the money you make you can also support missionaries and other things like medicine, education...
what i'm trying to say is that this life has been given to us, and while we cannot rely on it, the world has been created as a 'good' place (repeated several times in genesis 1), and even today when the world has lost much of its original glory, the process of RECOVERY, like recovery of the environment, relationships with God and others, health...it can be very fun. And i believe the process is meant for us to enjoy! Anyway, even if we die early and don't get to enjoy 'recovering', we always have that other Hope.... don't get to cozy, because before we die, the process of recovery is going to be a wild ride!!!
Yeah, I did the A-level in maths, physics and further mathematics
if so, do i really need to study physics to apply to american or canadian unis for architecture?
If this refers to the offering of physics in A-level, I'd definitely recommend it. But, of course, you need to study physics because it's a high school requirement. what exams will you take when you finish school? is the a-level a requirement? if it is, then you'd pro'ly take physics in the a-level.

if so, what if im already doing further maths?
further maths can be taken alongside physics, and i don't think that can serve as a replacement.

whatever happens, you will still take physics in SATII, right?
but the whole thing depends on the universities you're thinking of applying to, as they all have different things to say concerning academic preparation. But apart from arch, design studio, and arch theory/history courses, physics and calculus are the major stuff we'll be doing, so it will be okay not only to have, but to show a strong physics background.

gunning for fall 06? what are your choices of schools?

touche, bneg. you're very right. and oh yes! i absolutely enjoy solving problems. i love looking for solutions - especially in maths and design. wow, this is gonna be a realy wild, wild ride! can't wait....

yeah, total recovery will be enjoyable. my primary interests are missions and education. and not only the money i have but what i do with my mind and hands...

do you think that applying to a school that once rejected you seriously improves your chances of admission, or are you in automatically?

wow, my primary interests are education, environment/architecture, and missions as well! do you also like cooking?

i don't think it will *improve your chances, (you will most likely get in again), but i think they will be interested in what you've done over this year.... i guess they will take that as a more accurate indication of who you are... you've done a lot of things, and i think you should let them know all about it~

oh wait....once rejected? do you mean that?

wow, cool. but of course, arch is the main thing for me but those two is what i'd like to use my knowledge to impact on...
sure, i love cooking. i spend considerable time in the kitchen trying out new stunts as well as cherished recipes..

thanks, i hope i can represent myself as accurately as possible.
