<p>Well I can’t say for sure, but the figures that I’ve seen say 99% come from the top 10%. I suppose it’s possible. UC’s are numbers based. They take mostly Californians. California is a big state…hence…top 10% of the state’s class is a big number. I don’t think it means if you’re not top 1/10 that you won’t get in…they’ll probably just lose your class rank ;)</p>
<p>I mean, no one can know for sure unless they work in admissions, but they don’t really have any reason to lie in their published statistics…</p>

<p>It talks about how the UCs “estimate” their rank rather than actually measure it, which leads to wildy inaccurate class rank info.</p>
