Are admissions from TAG "seperate" from general admission?

UCs encourage you to apply during the general application period in November even if you couldn't TAG to a particular UC. Since there's 2 different applications, will there be 2 different admissions?

I'm planning on TAGing UCI this September and applying in November. The required GPA is 3.4 all throughout to spring 2014. Let's say my GPA falls below 3.4 at the end of my fall 2013 semester, thus making my TAG application invalid. Will my application to UCI still be "in" from the general November application or are my chances blown in general because I didn't meet the requirements for my TAG?

Additionally, if you get admitted through TAG, do you also get a separate admission decision that goes along with your general November application or is the entire decision converged into one? Like an admission from TAG, another admission from the November general app.

The TAG requirements says to "has earned a minimum GPA of 3.4 in all UC-transferable coursework by the end of the summer 2013 for fall 2014 admission and will maintain GPA of 3.4 in all UC-transferable coursework for all subsequent terms". What happens if your GPA drops below 3.4 at the end of your spring semester? Does your admission get revoked?

Thanks in advance.

You will only get an email saying your TAG was rejected. So in this case, they are separate applications.

You’ll get an email saying your TAG was approved during November and then you will get your acceptance letter March-April. You only get one acceptance letter.

No, you will get a new contract. They will most likely ask you to keep above a 2.0.
