TAG Application QUESTIONS!

Hello, I’m a prospective Computer Science major wishing to transfer to UCI for the Fall of 2017. I’m going into my second and final year at my community college (if all goes as planned) and I will be looking to submit my TAG application this September.

I currently have a UC Transfer Admission Planner account with all my classes and all contact information updated and from my understanding, all I have to do is click submit TAG application. I have all the requirements to apply for it and should be on track to get the TAG application accepted.

However, my question is: Is that all I have to do in terms of applying for the TAG agreement? I know I have to submit the regular UC app by November too. Also, how will AP score submission work? I solely chose to go to a community college right out of High School for undisclosed reasons so I never had to apply to UCs before so this experience is all new to me.

Am I missing anything important? Sorry for being so paranoid, I just don’t want to mess up during the application process and have my TAG denied after having all the requirements and working so hard.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you

You have finished all the core classes such as Calc 3 and Linear Algebra?

For AP scores, you will have to send once you are accepted.

For TAG you must maintain a minimum GPA as well as complete all courses they’ve indicated in the agreement. However, you should note that all UC requirements for transfer are not the same. If you’re looking to apply to other UCs besides Irvine, make sure you will be able to meet those mandatory requirements too.

Btw, if you make minor or honest mistakes, you can always call UCI and try to amend your application. Speaking from personal experience, i was given some terrible information and failed to include some of my grades from a CC I attended years ago on my TAG app and thought I was done for! But I was able to catch my mistake before decisions were posted then called their admissions office and they were surprisingly understanding. Hope that helps you breathe a little easier. Good luck!
