So I just got my acceptance letter (YAAY!) but there's no info on any scholarships...Does that mean I didn't get one? It's not a big deal to me, but I thought USC only sends out letters this early for candidates.

Also, just to let you all know, I did not ever get the "We have acted upon your application" status change. I briefly got the "We have forwarded your application" status for a few days and then it reverted back to the normal "We are in the process, April 1st" status. Voila, accepted! So there's hope - don't stress about the statuses!

The big scholarships require onsite interviews. I think that they send information about a week after the acceptance letter. It is safe to assume that everyone in the first wave of acceptances is under consideration for one of the two big scholarships.

Okay, thanks for the reply! Now it makes sense. I just assumed I wasn’t considered for anything since there was nothing in my packet, but then after thinking about it, I didn’t understand why I would even get an acceptance letter so early. Good to know it comes separately. I guess we’ll see what happens!

Bac/MD candidates also get their letters about this time - some of them will be scholarship candidates as well, but some receive early notification only because they are one of the group being interviewed for the Bac/MD program (a huge honor in itself).

Not necessarily. On Wednesday when the Caravan website trick worked, there was one person who posted that they only saw an acceptance notification, not a scholarship notification.

My son is a NM semifinalist and got an acceptance letter today. Assuming he ends up a finalist (and thus is eligible for the automatic Presidential scholarship) will he be invited to interview, or are the NM students just automatically given the merit scholarship without the interview?

mom483…if your son receives a letter stating that he is being considered for a Presidential merit scholarship, he would be advised to go to the interview anyway, regardless of the fact that he’ll get Pres anyway through the NMF status.

A few Pres candidates are bumped up to Trustee.

Do you know what kinds of things would bump somebody up to a Trustee scholarship? And how many of them do they give out? (Just wondering if the odds would make it worth the trip out to LA)
