I’m debating on whether or not I should take the AP Macroeconomics and/or AP US Government tests this May. If I’m going into Computer Science in the College of Engineering, are there any economics or politics credits that I need to take?
Every major has Gen Eds. Take what your interested in. Go to the AP credit page here:

The link above tells you which ones count for what UIUC courses. If those courses qualify as gen Eds, then yes.
Look up what constitutes a gen ed at UIUC.
In any case, getting AP credit may mean you don’t have to spend as much money on tuition, so I don’t see the drawback.
