<p>Hi, I had heard some info about bed bugs possibly becoming an increasing problem in some Umass housing, or close-by housing. I know there's a lot of public transportation that gets everybody around too. Does anyone know if bed bugs have become a noticeable problem for a lot of students?</p>
<p>There are a lot of whispers around campus about them, but I asked one of my friends who is a sophomore, and he says he has never seen one, met someone who has them, or heard of anyone who has them. I would not worry about it.</p>
<p>My son has been at UMass for a few years and never mentioned them. I just did a search in the archives of the campus newspaper for “bedbug.” Only hit was from 8 years ago and about some farfetched Pentagon scheme, nothing to do with UMass. I think a real outbreak would get some coverage.</p>
