I plan on taking the government and history sequences online from HCC. Is it self paced? I wanted to complete the entire sequence, just not the first half of each.

Does anyone have any experience with it and mind telling me much time it took / how hard it was?

I go to a dual credit high school in houston and I’ve taken a couple of online classes (both math). They’re usually semi self paced, and not too hard if you can teach yourself. The thing is that history and government are pretty much memory based classes, regardless of whether or not they’re online, so it shouldn’t be too tough for you.

Note, the curriculum is pretty standardized across the department, but each teacher’s set of assignments may vary. The math I’m currently taking basically has assigned readings in the textbook paired with online homework assignments for each section, and the teacher collects them approximately each month on the week that our test is scheduled for. The tests aren’t particularly hard.

I dunno, altogether I’d say online classes are just slightly easier than physical classes, and my history classes (US 1 and 2, i.e. HIST 1301&1302) were pretty easy anyway. Since this is the UT forum I’m assuming you’re doing it to transfer the credit. As long as youre not a history major that wants to know US hist like the back of your hand, I’d go for it cause it’ll definitely be cheaper and easier than UT.
