Are idential SAT Scores comparable?

I noticed that everyone on here always talks about SATs as a total, for example mine was 2080. But my scores were realitivly even (700,710,670) does this compare differently to someone who scores are very unbalenced, say, 750, 750, 580? I've just noticed this scenario frequently and was curious.

Yes, it does make a difference. Colleges look at scores with regards to each section. Not every 2080 is the same.

yeah like MIT would care more about your math section than writing for example.

M: 710
CR: 700
W: 590

That's pretty unbalanced imo..

I think a balanced score is better which brings me to a question. Should i retake if i have a CR 770 Math 760 which are quite balanced but a 680 writing?

no.. no one really cares about writing as much since it hasnt proven to be effective..

great balance w/math verbal... p.s. ill give u 40 Math points if u give me 100 Verbal points lol.
