<p>Are international students allowed to join, and if so, do only a small number do? from what i see, mostly everyone in a fraternity seems to be local
Also, do frats have a bad rep at umich? generally, are frats at umich just perceived to be places where pple just party and drink and get trashed? or are there exceptions to this
I'm attending umich in the fall of 2005 and i was just exploring my options.. so if anyone could help answer my queries i would be grateful</p>
<p>Fin, anybody and everybody can join a fraternity..but internationals are usually not really the Frat type. And no, frats are not only about drinking and partying. Of course, parties and alcohol are part of it, but it is also about belonging to a group and making friends. But I have noticed that most Internationals do not belong in Frats.</p>
