Does Umich require midyear reports?

I don't remember sending a mid-year report. Just send a final transcript.

If your grades start show a considerable decline, than they may ask you to submit a mid-year report. In the end, it doesn't matter because you have to submit a final transcript any so just avoid getting C's.

A friend of mine admitted last year got a D in physics and all he had to do was write a letter explaining his grade.

The admissions counselor just told us that they'd withdraw admission if you end up getting a bunch of C's on your report card.

Avoid 2 or more C's and D's and F's are out of the question. But if you do, hope that your circumstances are considered "extremely extenuating".

Uh-oh. I just received an e-mail from my admission officer asking me when midyear reports come out. I have dropped half a letter grade (eg from A to A-) in almost every single class (but I'm taking 6 classes, 5 APs). Do you guys think this is bad? Is he waiting for my first semester grades to determine whether I get accepted or not? Uh-oh

well i'm no admissions officer, but the fact that they consider both an A and A- a 4.0 when calculating their own GPA makes me think that they don't look down upon A-'s. I personally think it is a lot harder to maintain an A than an A-, so I see a big difference. I guess i don't really know.

They probably won't care. A-es in 5 APs is impressive in any situation, I don't care who it is or what school it is.
