<p>Egyptians, Moroccans, and Algerians are technically African, which would make them URM, but since Arabians, Persians, and Turks are Asians, then they may be ORMs.</p>
<p>Most Egyptians, Moroccans and Algerians would be considered Arab by admissions committees and, therefore, not URMs. URMs are Africans-Americans, Black Africans, Hispanics, Pacific Islanders and Native Americans.</p>
<p>That’s not to say there are not wonderful essays out there to be written. Best of luck.</p>
<p>There is no advantage of one religion or another. Being Muslim is not a factor since this spans races.</p>
