I went to UCSC for a year, got put on academic probation and then had my enrollment barred. I'm currently at a community college and have been told that my academic standing at UCSC will prevent me from transferring to any other UC (I'm assuming this info is correct). I have absolutely no desire to go back to UCSC. So I'm thinking that my only option now is probably start working on transferring to a CSU. I would like a second opinion on what I should do at this point.

Just out of curiosity, what happened at UCSC?

Got in over my head and decided to stay in several classes instead of withdrawing when I was borderline pass/fail. Overall, just tiny stupid mistakes that built up over time. I didn’t bother appealing at the time because I figured I could save a lot of money by finishing my GEs and prerequisites at a community college and transfer elsewhere. I suppose I could always try to get back into UCSC, but with the lack of financial aid, it looks very doubtful.

ELC letters are out and being received by potential UC applicants who are in the top 4% of their high school class!
