I'm planning on the same clubs junior and senior year with a possible addition of Social Studies Academic Team.

I am not planning on going to Harvard, but a decent school. So don't freak on me.

“A decent school” could mean a lot of things. I assume most accredited colleges are decent. And most schools don’t care that much about ECs and you’re basically in if you have a high GPA and test scores.

But for top schools (I’m being intentionally vague here, because no one is quite sure what a “top school” is)…probably not, unless there’s something more to this than just a bunch of school clubs you’re part of. And of course your ECs will be considered in the context of the rest of your application and what opportunities were available to you.

Your EC’s junior year are excellent- they show a devotion to the social sciences, so if that is what your interested in studying they will help you. It might be a bit concerning that your EC’s freshman and sophomore year do not correspond to those in junior year- it kind of looks like you took the ones you did to pad your application.

Okay. That makes sense.
If I do them senior year (like planned) will that come of as “padding.”

Because I honestly feel like I found myself this year and the clubs reflect that.
Social Sciences is definitely my thing.
I think I’ll have 7 or so credits of Social Studies (14 semesters/15 semesters depending on scheduling).

If in your college application you mention how you suddenly became more interested in social science between sophomore and junior year (maybe a teacher made you think about it, a club, an event, etc.), then your activities would make a whole lot more sense and it wouldn’t seem like padding. That would actually reflect well because colleges like to see improvement.

Haha I’m a complete social studies nut too… I’m taking 6 credits of it, and probably would’ve had more if I didn’t want to stay in art as well.

haha!

That’s way too much as well.
