This post only concerns admittance too top colleges like Yale, Dartmouth, and Princeton. I have a mixture of ECs (that all pertain to my diverse range of interests: music, languages, theatre, science, sports, etc.), but I'm concerned that it might seem too scatterbrained; it might seem like I'm doing all of these activities to pad my résumé. I've heard that top colleges like to see a "well-lopsided" student (all ECs focused in one area, with lots of achievements and awards) rather than a well-rounded student. So I guess I'm basically asking, to what extent is this true? I know there's nothing I can do about it now (finishing up sophomore year of high school, but I'm just wondering if I will be at any kind of disadvantage.

Thanks in advance!
