I'm not sure whether I'm too well-rounded (in terms of ECs). I spend a lot of time for student government/speech&debate, but I also do academic decathlon/science bowl/science internships. And then I do other things, like oboe, tutoring, honor societies, cross country, etc.

If I were to apply to MIT/Stanford/Princeton as an engineering major, for example, would I be seen as too spread out?
(I do have multiple state/semi-impressive "national" awards (they aren't really that well known/competitive) on both sides and am passionate for everything I do, i.e. I've done all of the above for three-four years at minimum).

Really? National awards? Anybody with national recognition has no right to be fishing for chances on CC. Please stop wasting people’s time. Just apply and move on with your life.

You may feel you are spread out, but really most of your activities seem to be in the intellectual/academic sphere. (Unless all your awards are in oboe or track?) And I assume your numbers are great. So you would probably suit a school like MIT just fine. You might be at a disadvantage at a small LAC where they’re looking for some one who stands out.
