if i self-report ACT scores on Common App but don’t send in the official report from ACT do colleges still take it into consideration in the admissions process? Also how important are AP scores since you’re not sending any official reports to verify them?
Most colleges, if not all, will require an official score report for SAT/ACT scores, primarily to discourage applicants from rounding their self-reported score to the nearest 36.
AP scores don’t matter much for admissions purposes. It can’t hurt to send strong scores, but they’re used primarily for placement and/or college credit.
IF you WANT the college to consider your ACT scores you should have them sent directly.
Applicants with great [ 4-5] AP Scores will often report them on the common app - so there is NO reason not to report yours if they are good scores.
