Hey, the author's on The Colbert Report right now!

OK, show over, here's the verdict: She did a great job of holding her own, and proved she can dish it out as well as she can take it. (And no, we didn't learn much more about her book.)

I am about halfway through the book right now. I found it ironic that I was purchasing the book along with study guides for AP Psychology, AP Chemistry and AP European History. My daughter goes to a high school that is nothing like Whitman, but she still pressures herself to perform like the students depicted in the book. I am finding it to be an interesting read.

I just finished reading this book on a flight home and enjoyed it. I did get caught up in a few of the kids' stories (particularly AP Frank & Sam) and skimmed through much of Robbins' editorializing. I did find it somewhat reaffirming that we already follow just about all of her "What Parents Can Do" advice and comforting that my children are not like any of the students depicted in the book.
