Are the classes you take in senior year important for grad school?

Like if you finished your major requirement already and take bunch of unrelated classes like communication, filmmaking, etc. will this be deemed bad for grad school admission even if you have research experience and your GPA, LOR and GRE are good?

you apply in fall, so they wouldn’t see it.

What if I work for a few years after graduation and then apply? then it matters?

You have to send your latest transcript and whatever’s on there can be taken into consideration. Most people submit it around November or early December so fall grades in a semester system will not show up. But they could in other systems like trimesters. But even in a semester system they can see what classes you’re taking during fall even though grades have not been finalized.

No one can tell you if they’ll care or not that you’re doing non-technical classes. It depends on the person reviewing your application. You can put it off to spring semester of senior year if you’re worried as those are never known to them during the admissions process.
