are the international students actually smarter? cuz i heard that most of the international students who got accepted by the top U always have a higher score on the exams.like AP,SATII(except for the verbal section of sat I )

The international students who aim for and are accepted to top US schools are likely going to be among the best students in their respective nations; there's more of them than there are spots in the US, so naturally the schools are going to select the best.

I agree with CDN_dancer, there are definitely not enough int'l spots at US colleges for all int'ls to get in. So competition is tough.

And as an int'l myself I can say that A LOT of int'ls get rejected. Saying that int'ls are somehow smarter is like making an irrational generalization about a vast population.

this is bc it is tougher for international students to get into top schools in the U.S.(actually a lot tougher than domestic students) as a result, the majority of international students at top u.s. schools are very qualified students to begin with.

It's a general trend in pretty much all of my classes that international students do better than everyone else, haha.
