Are there? People say all public universities do not offer them to internationals, but I've seen some threads where brilliant kids got "scholarships" to Berkeley. is that true?

I believe it's more difficult to attain, as many schools in the US aren't need-blind for international applicants.

All applicants to Berkeley, including Internationals are eligible for the Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship which is given to about 200 freshmen every year. It's awarded based on merit, but the amount you get is based upon financial need. Here's a link with more information: Scholarships Prizes Honors The Berkeley International Office also has financial aid opportunities open to Internationals after they've been at Cal for at least 2 semesters, but I don't know how much they award.

hmm. thanks.. but no financial aid without scholarships for internationals though? my idea was that all public universities don't have finaid for intls./

I don't know how regent will work for international student though. International students don't pay tax so I guess it's going to be hard to determine the financial need.
And besides, I don't think there's financial aid for international students. There are some limited scholarships but definitely not the federal/state aids such as cal grants, pell grants

I looked into this for an international college student that we sponsored while he was enrolled in a college near us. He wanted to pursue a graduate degree and for his major Suffolk U in Boston had some scholarships available for international students. Suffolk has a lot of international students.

I called the admission office today and for low income international students, the officer said i can apply for EOP, which will then work in my favor in terms of getting admitted. But I just found some info about EOP on the Berkeley website, and it says EOP is only for students living in California or Native Americans... anyone know more about this?
